Description:
This circular route offers spectacular views of Tsitsikamma, Plettenberg Bay, Knysna and Sedgefield in the distance, hence the name "Bay to Bay View". The route starts at the apple farm Vergenoeg and winds its way up to the crest of the Outeniqua mountains. A short detour to Spitskop Viewpoint (8km), situated 1453m above sea level, allows hikers to experience the full extent of this spectacular view. The route then follows the crest until the road drops down into the Millwood basin to the campsite for the overnight stop. Follow the same route from the campsite back to the crest and then follow the exit signboards to take you back to the starting point. This route can be done as a 2-day route and follows the same route as the 4x4 trail. Accommodation: Camping is allowed on the reserve at the demarcated campsite. Water and toilet facilities are available, but no showers. There is a covered picnic area with 2 picnic tables. Another option is the Kammanassie Nature Reserve self-catering cottage situated in Uniondale.
