False Bay Park is situated along the Western Shores of False Bay which is part of Lake St. Lucia a recently declared world heritage site. Containing important marine fossils of both animals and coral which can be viewed in an attractive interpretive centre, the reserve also has a variety of habitats such as sand forests, thornveld and an open savannah.
This variety provides excellent bird watching and game viewing and two self-guided trails have been established for visitors to enjoy these activities. Other popular activities are boating and fishing.
Accommodation is provided in campsites along the shoreline overlooking the Lake. They are situated both north and south of Lister point. Dungandlovu Rustic Camp has four huts each equipped with four beds. Basic comforts include good drinking water, firewood and a deepfreeze, no bedding is provided.The viewing platform on the lakeside of the camp at sunset commands magnificent views of the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park.

The nearest town which has a full range of services is Hluhluwe which is 15 kms away.
How to get there:
The turn off to False Bay is at Hluhluwe village on the N2 and the entrance is about 15 kms east of the Hluhluwe railway station.
Pets are not permitted into the reserve.
Concessions:
Education groups from KwaZulu-Natal are admitted free to the reserve.

ACCOMMODATION
The beautifully situated south facing campsites, commanding magnificent views across False Bay to Hell's Gate, accommodate both caravans and tents.Most campsites are electrified with plug points. The north facing campsites provide easy access for caravans and are not electrified.
All campsites feature shared coldwater taps and barbecue facilities. Ablution facilities provide hot and cold running water, flush toilets, showers and dishwashing basins but no laundry facilities.

Dugandlovu Rustic Camp has four four-bed huts with basic comforts including cold water showers (it rarely gets very cold), basic kitchen facilities including a deepfreeze, firewood and paraffin lamps. Guests need to provide their own bedding.A number of campsites with beautiful views across the lake are also available.
