Skyline Nature Reserve

Known for its arboretum, this reserve is situated conveniently between Uvongo and Margate.
Founded in 1962, Skyline Nature Reserve includes 76 indigenous coastal tree species, about 300 other indigenous trees and 400 exotic tree species.
A series of one-hour self-guided trails are demarcated.
Although game such as blue and grey duiker, and bushbuck occur, the emphasis is on botanical species. Most tree species are clearly labelled.Skyline is an ideal venue for an easy walk or picnic and an escape from the beach when the weather is inclement.Please note that there are no ablution facilities and though people may picnic there are no barbacue facilities.

How to get there
Proceed south from Port Shepstone along the old main road to Uvongo. At the robot in Uvongo turn right and then left immediately into Pioneer Drive, cross over the new highway and turn right onto the dirt road parallel to the highway. Proceed for 400 m and the reserve is on the left hand side. The route is signposted with directional signs for Skyline.
Pets are not permitted at Reserve.
Self guided trails: The reserve has a series of self-guided trails providing about 1 hour of walking.
