Start your tour on the western side of the Goukou river. Follow the road skirting the western bank of the river. The road has sharp corners and steep gradients and requires cautious driving. Beautiful views over green meadows of small farms as well as river vistas will be experienced. After 3.3km you will see a gate on your left allowing entrance through a game fence "Hoekland". A visit to view the game may be worthwhile. 4,7km further a sign reading "Kandahar" will appear on your right. Here Dan and Linda Brink cultivate Lavender and also extract the oil. About 1km beyond Kandahar, Milkwood/Muffet farms are situated on your right. Overnight accommodation is available. Contact No. (028) 7541649. 6.4km from Kandahar you will reach Tamani Farmhouse on your left. This is a private nature reserve with river frontage, picnic spots and hiking trails. 5km from Tamani a road will join in from the right. Proceed straight on from this junction towards the west for 6.4km . Note the change of vegetative type to a typical fynbos biome alongside the road. Turn right. After 6km you will arrive at a turnoff marked Heidelberg, but only from the opposite direction. Turn left, 1.4 km onwards a sign "Swartheuwel Guest Farm" will appear on your left. This is a sheep farm. Visit a traditional thatched home, A tractor/trailer ride through indigenous fynbos and attendance of a concert performed by the pupils of a
nearby school can be arranged. Accommodation is available and refreshments can i)e served. Contact no (028) 713 3853. Continue your journey towards the west take a gradual turn to your right at about 2.5 km and continue for another 3.8 km to reach a T-junction with a wider road turn right. Within 100 m you will see a farm road on your left, "Uitkyk Boerdery". Turn in and follow the road for 1 km to reach the farm house and workers dwellings. Here you can experience the home lives of farm workers and their families and enjoy the traditional "Roosterkoek". Among other species, ostriches are raised in a natural habitat. Returning to the main road turn right. Follow this road for 17km to track the Heidelberg Road turn left. Drive south for 3.6 km. This road will lead you to the quaint village of Vermaaklikheid, a farming community of yesteryear .Before you reach the centre of the village, road signs of "River Magic" will be visible. This is a holiday establishment that provides accommodation, meals and boat trips on the Duivenhoks river.

Take the southerly route for 2,6 km. Drive 2,6 km to enjoy the view of the Duivenhoks river. (Cut de Sac). You will reach a closed gate to the private Holiday Resort of Puntjie .Return to Marker 26: This is the "Blombos" road. Drive east for 6km to find an entrance on your left marked Satsenhergspos". This farm belongs to Hirsh and Sue fish. Walk freely among the Fynbos. Accommodation is available in a fully equipped farmhouse. Contact no 082 658 4561. Continue on the Blombos road for 13km to an adjoining road to the left. Drive for another 12,5 km to reach the tar road connecting Stilbaai and Jongensfontein .You have now rejoined route 1.
