INTRODUCTION TO CLANWILLIAM 
Clanwilliam, one of the oldest towns in the country, is known for the variety it offers the tourist. This includes a richness in history, sightseeing, flowerviewing in season, watersports, angling, hikings, rock art viewing and farming in fruit and vegetables. This is the heart of the Rooibostea world. It borders the Sandveld, Cedarberg as well as Namaqualand. Clanwilliam Dam is renowned as the best in the Western Cape for skiing. During August and September thousand of tourists visit the variety of flowers offered by the wild flower garden, 10-day wild flower show en flower routes. National bowls tournaments, a cultural festival, angling competitions, triathlon and fitness festival, interprovincial netball tournament, endurance walk, horse endurance race, are some of the events on its menu.
