Kraaifontein - Kraaifontein (crow fountain) takes its name from the
many crows nesting in its tall trees. It became an independent municipality
in 1950.
Kuilsrivier - Named after the river, this town was a cattle post belonging
to the Dutch East India Company in the 17th century. It became an independent
municipality in 1950.

History and Culture
Mooiplaas Homestead
Mooiplaas, meaning beautiful farm, lies in a valley on the northern
slopes of the Bottelary Hills. The farm dates back to the early 1800's,
in 1963 Nicolaas Roos aquired the property and was later joined by his
sons This Cape Dutch homestead became a national monument and displays
the date 1833 on its front gable.
Farm house, Zevenfontein
Situated on the Stellenbosch Winelands on the slopes of the Ribbokrant,
with superb views overlooking Table Mountain and the Two Oceans. While
literally meaning Seven Expectations, the name Zevenwacht exemplifies
the abundant delights, which await visitors to the Zevenwacht Wine Estate
and Farmhouse.
Hazendal Farm, Bottelary
Established in 1699, Hazendal derives its name from the original owner,
Christoffel Hazenwinkel, who hailed from Braunsweig, Germany. The old
cellar (wine tasting centre), the homestead and the old gate posts were
given "National Monument" status on 1991.
