VRYBURG 
When the Republic of Stellaland was proclaimed in 1882, Vryburg was established as its capital. The republicans called themselves \vryburgers \, thus the town was so called. It lies roughly 150km south-west of Mafikeng and has a lot of big cattle and game ranches in the vicinity. The Leon Taljaard Nature Reserve has a variety of game. Attractions include the Tierkloof Missionary Station, the Theiler Museum, the Vryburg Museum, Bushman engravings and the Old Gaol main gate.
